Mold and fungi spores are among the leading causes associated with health related problems of homeowners, tenants, employees and the general public. These health problems may include allergic reactions, severe flu-like symptoms, cancer and even infant fatality. This seemingly harmless and often invisible airborne material can pose serious health and liability risks without warning.
Microbial evaluation begins with a preliminary on-site investigation of the property. Interviews are conducted with occupants and visual assessments are made to determine the source of the problem. The environment is then sampled as necessary and may include air and/or bulk samples to determine the presence and type of microbial contamination.
Asbestos hidden deep within the walls, ceilings and insulation of buildings has been a major health concern among insurance carriers, residents, building owners, property managers, tenants and employees for decades. Health concerns include asbestosis, lung cancer and mesothlioma.
ENVIROCHECK, INC. asbestos surveys and environmental support includes:
- Inspection of areas suspected to hold asbestos-containing building materials.
- Bulk sampling of suspect materials with asbestos content.
- Air sampling for airborne fibers using the appropriate analytical procedures.
- Identification, quantification, and risk analysis of all ACMs and associated hazards and exposure.
- Recommendations for controlling asbestos, including operations and maintenance programs for hazardous material left in place and environmental abatement project management.
ENVIROCHECK, INC. is capable of meeting immediate multi-residential, commercial, school and industrial needs when lead exposure risk becomes a critical issue of concern.
Lead exposure has been determined to be a cause of cancer, brain damage, liver and kidney disorders, damage to the reproductive and nervous systems, premature birth and low birth weight. According to the EPA, children are in the highest risk group due to their size, suffering such symptoms as learning disabilities, impaired motor skills and hyperactivity.
Sources of lead poisoning can include drinking water, paint sources (such as smelters or industrial discharges), ceramics, cosmetics and hobbies (such as firearms or working with stained glass windows).
ENVIROCHECK, INC. provides a full analytical service to determine the presence of radon gas. Recent findings show that radon gas can pose serious health risks to occupants. If radon is found to be above the action level, we will provide long-term mitigation of this hazard.
The Phase One Site Assessment is a comprehensive investigation on one or more subject properties depiction past and present activities relating to environmental contamination of the property in question. Many banking institutions require a preliminary site survey investigation to limit their liability when loaning money for the purchase of commercial and industrial properties. ENVIROCHECK, INC. ensures quality and accuracy with direct investigations by EPA Registered Environmental Assessors.
Our Phase I Investigations involve a search of government records, title search (upon request), a historical aerial photo review, and an on-site investigation to identify suspect hazards and potential hazard migrations.
